Adrianna reached out to me for a floral mentorship as an established hair & makeup artist in Colorado when she found herself dreaming of making a career pivot into floral design. Her story of feeling like she’d achieved what she’d set out to do as a hair & makeup artist and the desire she felt to expand into a new and more aligned creative trade in a new chapter of her career felt both familiar and very exciting to me.
Often my mentees come to me in a time of transition or transformation, either to uplevel a current chapter or to step into a new one, and I could not be more thrilled to hear it. I am all about meeting you in this exciting, sometimes overwhelming, and overall truly powerful moment of change as we strategize and align with a new chapter.
For Adrianna's mentorship, we did a 2-day workshop, combining hands-on floral design work for weddings in three central areas: Bouquet Design, Centerpiece Design, and Foam-Free Floral Arch Design; along with holistic business strategy and guidance. This approach equips my mentees with the tools, perspectives, steps, and hands-on experience they need (not to mention beautiful new imagery for a floral design portfolio!) to really get started and step fully into this new dream.
Prior to the workshop date, we had a pre-workshop Mentorship strategy call, where I was able to tailor resources and answers to Adrianna’s questions about business and getting started, pricing and building a network, and more, before we met for the hands-on design work in the studio.
On day one of the workshop, we worked on lush & airy foam-free centerpiece design and hand-gathered bouquet design, including flower recipe strategy, color story, mechanics, and techniques.
On day two of the workshop, we focused on foam-free floral arch mechanics, flower recipe, design strategy, and hands-on design. We also took a break for lunch and finished the day with a photoshoot of all designs and to capture headshots and portfolio images from the workshop.
Here is a little quote from Adrianna about her experience in the Mentorship:
“Amazing, well thought out, and very educational. I loved Jen’s energy on her instagram, and after talking to her on the phone, I knew we would be a perfect match. She was very knowledgeable and kind, and very welcoming. The whole experience was more than I could have asked for.”
